{א} שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת לְדָוִד לוּלֵי יְהוָה שֶׁהָיָה לָנוּ יֹאמַר נָא יִשְׂרָאֵל:
{ב} לוּלֵי יְהוָה שֶׁהָיָה לָנוּ בְּקוּם עָלֵינוּ אָדָם:
{ג} אֲזַי חַיִּים בְּלָעוּנוּ בַּחֲרוֹת אַפָּם בָּנוּ:
{ד} אֲזַי הַמַּיִם שְׁטָפוּנוּ נַחְלָה עָבַר עַל נַפְשֵׁנוּ:
{ה} אֲזַי עָבַר עַל נַפְשֵׁנוּ הַמַּיִם הַזֵּידוֹנִים:
{ו} בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה שֶׁלֹּא נְתָנָנוּ טֶרֶף לְשִׁנֵּיהֶם:
{ז} נַפְשֵׁנוּ כְּצִפּוֹר נִמְלְטָה מִפַּח יוֹקְשִׁים הַפַּח נִשְׁבָּר וַאֲנַחְנוּ נִמְלָטְנוּ:
{ח} עֶזְרֵנוּ בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה עֹשֵׂה שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ:
{א} שִׁ֥יר הַֽמַּעֲל֗וֹת לְדָ֫וִ֥ד לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁהָ֣יָה לָ֑נוּ יֹֽאמַר־נָ֝א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
{ב} לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁהָ֣יָה לָ֑נוּ בְּק֖וּם עָלֵ֣ינוּ אָדָֽם׃
{ג} אֲ֭זַי חַיִּ֣ים בְּלָע֑וּנוּ בַּחֲר֖וֹת אַפָּ֣ם בָּֽנוּ׃
{ד} אֲ֭זַי הַמַּ֣יִם שְׁטָפ֑וּנוּ נַ֗֜חְלָה עָבַ֥ר עַל־נַפְשֵֽׁנוּ׃
{ה} אֲ֭זַי עָבַ֣ר עַל־נַפְשֵׁ֑נוּ הַ֝מַּ֗יִם הַזֵּֽידוֹנִֽים׃
{ו} בָּר֥וּךְ יְהוָ֑ה שֶׁלֹּ֥א נְתָנָ֥נוּ טֶ֝֗רֶף לְשִׁנֵּיהֶֽם׃
{ז} נַפְשֵׁ֗נוּ כְּצִפּ֥וֹר נִמְלְטָה֮ מִפַּ֢ח י֫וֹקְשִׁ֥ים הַפַּ֥ח נִשְׁבָּ֗ר וַאֲנַ֥חְנוּ נִמְלָֽטְנוּ׃
{ח} עֶ֭זְרֵנוּ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה עֹ֝שֵׂ֗ה שָׁמַ֥יִם וָאָֽרֶץ׃

Shir hamaalot ledavid, lulê Adonai sheháia lánu, iômar na Yisrael
Lulê Adonai sheháia lánu becum alênu adam
Azai chayim belaúnu, bacharot apam bánu
Azai hamáyim shetafúnu, náchla avar al nafshênu
Azai avar al nafshênu hamáyim hazedonim
Baruch Adonai, shelo netanánu téref leshinehem
Nafshênu ketsipor nimleta mipach iokeshim, hapach nishbar vaanáchnu nimlátnu
Ezrênu beshem Adonai, osse shamáyim vaárets
Tehillim 124 - Tehillim translated into English
1. A Song of Maalot of David. If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, let Israel now say;
2. If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us;
3. Then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;
4. Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul;
5. Then the proud waters would have gone over our soul!
6. Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth!
7. Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped!
8. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth!
