{א} לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל נְגִינַת לְדָוִד:
{ב} שִׁמְעָה אֱלֹהִים רִנָּתִי הַקְשִׁיבָה תְּפִלָּתִי:
{ג} מִקְצֵה הָאָרֶץ אֵלֶיךָ אֶקְרָא בַּעֲטֹף לִבִּי בְּצוּר יָרוּם מִמֶּנִּי תַנְחֵנִי:
{ד} כִּי הָיִיתָ מַחְסֶה לִי מִגְדַּל עֹז מִפְּנֵי אוֹיֵב:
{ה} אָגוּרָה בְאָהָלְךָ עוֹלָמִים אֶחֱסֶה בְסֵתֶר כְּנָפֶיךָ סֶּלָה:
{ו} כִּי אַתָּה אֱלֹהִים שָׁמַעְתָּ לִנְדָרָי נָתַתָּ יְרֻשַּׁת יִרְאֵי שְׁמֶךָ:
{ז} יָמִים עַל יְמֵי מֶלֶךְ תּוֹסִיף שְׁנוֹתָיו כְּמוֹ דֹר וָדֹר:
{ח} יֵשֵׁב עוֹלָם לִפְנֵי אֱלֹהִים חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶת מַן יִנְצְרֻהוּ:
{ט} כֵּן אֲזַמְּרָה שִׁמְךָ לָעַד לְשַׁלְּמִי נְדָרַי יוֹם יוֹם:

{ב} שִׁמְעָ֣ה אֱ֭לֹהִים רִנָּתִ֑י הַ֝קְשִׁ֗יבָה תְּפִלָּתִֽי׃
{ג} מִקְצֵ֤ה הָאָ֨רֶץ ׀ אֵלֶ֣יךָ אֶ֭קְרָא בַּעֲטֹ֣ף לִבִּ֑י בְּצוּר־יָר֖וּם מִמֶּ֣נִּי תַנְחֵֽנִי׃
{ד} כִּֽי־הָיִ֣יתָ מַחְסֶ֣ה לִ֑י מִגְדַּל־עֹ֝֗ז מִפְּנֵ֥י אוֹיֵֽב׃
{ה} אָג֣וּרָה בְ֭אָהָלְךָ עוֹלָמִ֑ים אֶֽחֱסֶ֨ה בְסֵ֖תֶר כְּנָפֶ֣יךָ סֶּֽלָה׃
{ו} כִּֽי־אַתָּ֣ה אֱ֭לֹהִים שָׁמַ֣עְתָּ לִנְדָרָ֑י נָתַ֥תָּ יְ֝רֻשַּׁ֗ת יִרְאֵ֥י שְׁמֶֽךָ׃
{ז} יָמִ֣ים עַל־יְמֵי־מֶ֣לֶךְ תּוֹסִ֑יף שְׁ֝נוֹתָ֗יו כְּמוֹ־דֹ֥ר וָדֹֽר׃
{ח} יֵשֵׁ֣ב ע֖וֹלָם לִפְנֵ֣י אֱלֹהִ֑ים חֶ֥סֶד וֶ֝אֱמֶ֗ת מַ֣ן יִנְצְרֻֽהוּ׃
{ט} כֵּ֤ן אֲזַמְּרָ֣ה שִׁמְךָ֣ לָעַ֑ד לְֽשַׁלְּמִ֥י נְ֝דָרַ֗י י֣וֹם ׀ יֽוֹם׃

Lamnatsêach al neguinat ledavid
Shim’á Elohim rinati, hac’shiva tefilati
Mictse haárets elêcha ecra baatof libi, betsur iarum mimêni tanchêni
Ki hayíta mach’se li, migdal oz mipenê oiev
Agúra veahalchá olamim, echesse vesséter kenafêcha sêla
Ki ata Elohim shamáta lindarai, natáta ierushat yir’ê shemêcha
Iamim al iemê mélech tossif, shenotav kemo dor vador
Ieshev olam lifnê Elohim, chéssed veemét man yintseruhu
Ken azamera shimchá laad, leshalemi nedarai iom iom
Tehillim 61 - Tehillim translated into english
1. To the chief Musician, for stringed instruments, A Psalm of David.
2. Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer.
3. From the end of the earth I will cry to you, when my heart is faint; lead me to the rock that is too high for me.
4. For you have been a shelter for me, and a strong tower against the enemy.
5. I will abide in your tent for ever; I will trust in the shelter of your wings. Selah.
6. For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
7. Prolong the king’s life; may his years be as many generations.
8. May he be enthroned before God for ever; O appoint love and truth, that they may preserve him.
9. So I will sing praise to your name for ever, as I daily perform my vows.

David composed this prayer while fleeing from Saul. The object of all his thoughts and his entreaty is that God grant him long life-not for the sake of pursuing the pleasures of the world, but rather to serve God in awe, all of his days.
