{א} מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְהוָה רֹעִי לֹא אֶחְסָר:
{ב} בִּנְאוֹת דֶּשֶׁא יַרְבִּיצֵנִי עַל מֵי מְנֻחוֹת יְנַהֲלֵנִי:
{ג} נַפְשִׁי יְשׁוֹבֵב יַנְחֵנִי בְמַעְגְּלֵי צֶדֶק לְמַעַן שְׁמוֹ:
{ד} גַּם כִּי אֵלֵךְ בְּגֵיא צַלְמָוֶת לֹא אִירָא רָע כִּי אַתָּה עִמָּדִי שִׁבְטְךָ וּמִשְׁעַנְתֶּךָ הֵמָּה יְנַחֲמֻנִי:
{ה} תַּעֲרֹךְ לְפָנַי שֻׁלְחָן נֶגֶד צֹרְרָי דִּשַּׁנְתָּ בַשֶּׁמֶן רֹאשִׁי כּוֹסִי רְוָיָה:
{ו} אַךְ טוֹב וָחֶסֶד יִרְדְּפוּנִי כָּל יְמֵי חַיָּי וְשַׁבְתִּי בְּבֵית יְהוָה לְאֹרֶךְ יָמִים:

{ד} גַּ֤ם כִּֽי־אֵלֵ֨ךְ בְּגֵ֪יא צַלְמָ֡וֶת לֹא־אִ֘ירָ֤א רָ֗ע כִּי־אַתָּ֥ה עִמָּדִ֑י שִׁבְטְךָ֥ וּ֝מִשְׁעַנְתֶּ֗ךָ הֵ֣מָּה יְנַֽחֲמֻֽנִי׃
{ה} תַּעֲרֹ֬ךְ לְפָנַ֨י ׀ שֻׁלְחָ֗ן נֶ֥גֶד צֹרְרָ֑י דִּשַּׁ֖נְתָּ בַשֶּׁ֥מֶן רֹ֝אשִׁ֗י כּוֹסִ֥י רְוָיָֽה׃
{ו} אַ֤ךְ ׀ ט֤וֹב וָחֶ֣סֶד יִ֭רְדְּפוּנִי כָּל־יְמֵ֣י חַיָּ֑י וְשַׁבְתִּ֥י בְּבֵית־יְ֝הוָ֗ה לְאֹ֣רֶךְ יָמִֽים׃

Mizmor ledavid, Adonai roí lo echsar
Bin’ot déshe iarbitsêni, al mê menuchot ienahalêni
Nafshi ieshovev, ianchêni vemaguelê tsédec lemáan shemo
Gam ki elech begue tsalmávet, lo ira ra ki ata imadi, shivtechá umish’antêcha hêma ienachamúni
Taaroch lefanai shulchan négued tsorerai, dishanta vashemen roshí, cossí revaiá
Ach tov vachéssed yirdefúni col iemê chaiai, veshavti bevet Adonai leórech iamim
Tehillim 23 - Tehillim translated into English
1. A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters.
3. He restores my soul; he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me.
5. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.
6. Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

When King David was in the forest of Cheret and nearly died of starvation, God provided nourishment for him with a taste of the World to Come. David then composed this psalm, describing the magnitude of his trust in God.
