רַבִּי מֵאִיר אוֹמֵר: הֱוֵי מְמַעֵט בָּעֵסֶק, וַעֲסוֹק בַּתּוֹרָה. וֶהֱוֵי שְׁפַל רוּחַ בִּפְנֵי כָל אָדָם. וְאִם בִּטַּלְתָּ מִן הַתּוֹרָה, יֶשׁ לְךָ בְּטֵלִים הַרְבֵּה כְּנֶגְדָּךְ. וְאִם עָמַלְתָּ בַתּוֹרָה, יֶשׁ (לוֹ) שָׂכָר הַרְבֵּה לִתֶּן לָךְ:
