Tehillim 81 - Tehillim translated into english
1. To the chief Musician, according to Gittit, A Psalm of Asaph. 2. Sing aloud to God our strength; make a joyful noise to the God of Jacob. 3. Raise a song, and beat the tambourine, the sweet lyre with the harp. 4. Blow a shofar at the new moon, at the full moon on our feast day. 5. For this is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob. 6. This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt. I heard the language of one whom I had not known,. 7. Saying, I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands are freed from the basket. 8. You called in trouble, and I saved you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah. 9. Hear, O my people, and I will warn you, O Israel, if you will listen to me:. 10. There shall be no strange god among you; nor shall you worship any foreign god. 11. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. 12. But my people would not listen to my voice; and Israel would have none of me. 13. So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, and they walked in their own counsels. 14. Oh that my people would listen to me, and that Israel would walk in my ways!. 15. I should soon subdue their enemies, and turn my hand against their adversaries. 16. Let the haters of the Lord cringe before him, and their punishment should last for ever. 17. And he would feed him with the finest of the wheat; and I would satisfy you with honey from the rock.
