Ioshev besséter elion, betsel Shadai yit’lonan
Omar ladonai mach’si umtsu dati, Elohai evtach bo
Ki hu iatsilechá mipach iacush, midéver avót
Beevrato iássech lach, vetáchat kenafav tech’se, tsina vessorecha amito
Ló tira mipáchad laila, mechets iauf iomam
Midéver baofel iahaloch, mikétev iashud tsahoráyim
Yipol mitsidechá élef urvavá miminêcha, elêcha lo yigash
Rac beenêcha tabit, veshilumat reshaim tir’e
Ki ata Adonai mach’si, elion sámta meonêcha
Ló teune elêcha raá venêga lo yicrav beaholêcha
Ki mal’achav ietsave lach, lishmorchá bechol derachêcha
Al capáyim yisaúncha, pen tigof baéven raglêcha
Al shachal vaféten tidroch, tirmos kefir vetanin
Ki vi chashac vaafaletêhu, assaguevêhu ki iada shemi
Yicraêni veenêhu, imo anochi vetsara, achaletsêhu vaachabedêhu
Órech iamim asbiêhu vear’êhu bishuati

1. He who dwells in the secret place of the most High, who abides under the shadow of the Almighty,
2. Will say to the Lord, My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust, 3. For he shall save you from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4. He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you find refuge; his truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night; nor of the arrow that flies by day;
6. Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7. A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.
8. Only with your eyes shall you behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9. Because you, O Lord, are my refuge. You have made the most High your habitation;
10. No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.
11. For he shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
12. They shall carry you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13. You shall tread on the lion and on the adder; the young lion and the crocodile shall you trample under foot.
14. Because he has set his love upon me, therefore I will save him; I will set him on high, because he knows my name.
15. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will save him, and honor him.
16. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

For protection

This psalm inspires the hearts of the people to seek shelter under the wings of the Divine Presence. It also speaks of the four seasons of the year, and their respective ministering powers, instructing those who safeguard their souls to avoid them.
