Mizmor ledavid, Adonai keratícha chúsha li, haazína coli becor’í lach
Ticon tefilati ketóret lefanêcha, mas’at capai minchat árev
Shita Adonai shomra lefi, nitserá al dal sefatai
Al tat libi ledavar ra, lehit’olel alilot berésha et ishim pôale áven, uval elcham beman’amehem
Iehelmêni tsadic chéssed veiochichêni, shémen rosh al ianí roshi, ki od utfilati beraotehem
Nishmetú vidê sêla shoftehem, veshameú amarai ki naêmu
Kemo folêach uvokêa baárets, nifzerú atsamênu lefi sheól
Ki elêcha Elohim Adonai enai, bechá chassiti al tear nafshi
Shomrêni midê fach iakeshu li, umokeshót pôale áven
Yipelu vemachmorav reshaim, iáchad anochi ad eevor

1. A Psalm of David. Lord, I cry to you; make haste to me; give ear to my voice, when I cry to you.
2. Let my prayer be set forth before you like incense; and the lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice.
3. Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.
4. Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked deeds with men who work iniquity; and do not let me eat of their dainties.
5. Let the righteous strike me in loving kindness, and let him rebuke me; it shall be as oil for my head; let not my head refuse it; but my prayer shall still be against their evil deeds.
6. When their judges are thrown down to stony places, then they will hear how sweet were my words.
7. As when one cuts and breaks up wood on the earth, so are our bones scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
8. But my eyes are toward you, O God the Lord; in you is my trust; do not leave my soul destitute.
9. Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, and the traps of the evil doers.
10. Let the wicked fall together into their own nets, while I escape.

For a heart problem

This psalm teaches an important lesson: One should pray for Divine assistance that his mouth not speak that which is not in his heart. The gatekeeper only allows the gate to be opened for a purpose; let it be the same with one's lips.
