Ki sham sheelúnu shovênu divrê shir vetolalênu simchá, shíru lánu mishir Tsión
Ech nashir et shir Adonai al admat nechar
Im eshcachêch Ierushaláyim, tishcach iemini
Tidbac leshoni lechiki im lo ezkerêchi, im lo aalê et Ierushaláyim al rosh simchati
Zechor Adonai livnê edom et iom Ierushaláyim, haomerim áru áru ad haiessod ba
Bat bavel hasheduda, ashrê sheieshalem lach et guemulech shegamalt lánu
Ashrê sheiochez venipêts et olaláyich el hassála

1. By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, we also wept, when we remembered Zion.
2. We hung our lyres on the willows in its midst.
3. For there those who carried us away captive required of us a song; and those who tormented us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
4. How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a foreign land?
5. If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.
6. If I do not remember you, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy.
7. Remember, O Lord, against the Edomites, the day of Jerusalem; who said, Raze it, raze it, to its foundation.
8. O daughter of Babylon, you are to be destroyed! Happy shall he be, who repays you for what you have done to us.
9. Happy shall he be, who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock.

To remove hatred

Referring to the time of the destruction of the Temple, this psalm tells of when Nebuchadnezzar would ask the Levites to sing in captivity as they had in the Temple, to which they would reply, "How can we sing the song of God upon alien soil?" They were then comforted by Divine inspiration.
